POD Design Tool Tutorial

In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to use our POD design tool. This involves uploading images, designing the front and back of the product, using the autofill feature, adding text and stickers, and incorporating a foreground.

As an example, we will show you how to create a playing card, specifically choosing “Poker Size Custom Playing Cards (2.48″ x 3.46″)” for our design product. 

For the preparation

Go to the product page

Visit our Catalog page and choose the product you want to customise. In this example, we’ve selected Poker Size Custom Playing Cards (2.48″ x 3.46″).

• Select the specifications for your product.

• Click Order a Sample to proceed.

Enter the number of cards in your deck.

• Choose if the Fronts of the cards will have the same or different designs.

• Choose if the Backs of the cards will have the same or different designs.

• Select Easy or Advanced editing option (only available for packaging design)

Upload Your Designs/Images

• Click the Upload button located at the top-left corner of the screen.

• A new window will appear where you can select the images you want to upload.

• Once uploaded, your images will display on the screen.

Design Front and Back of Cards

• Switch between designing the front and back of the cards using the 1 Front and 2 Back buttons in the upper-right corner.

• There are three options for adding your image to the design template:

Design Both Sides of The Cards

• To design the front or back of the card, toggle the option between “Front” and “Back” in the upper-right corner.

• You have 3 options for designing the card front.

Option 1: ADD

• Click the three dots below the image you wish to add and select Add.

• The image will appear on the template. You can freely resize and position it to complete your design.

Optional: Add Stickers to you Design

• Click the Sticker Library icon on the left-hand side of the page.

• Browse through the stickers, select one, and click Add beneath it.

• You can resize and position the sticker as needed.

Option 2: Background

• Click the three dots below the image you want to use and select Background.

• The image will automatically fill the template.

Note: After uploading, ensure your design fits within the bleed areas to avoid cropping issues.

Optional: Using QPMN Background Graphics

• Click the Background Library icon on the left-hand side.

• Select Get More to browse available categories, then choose the background design you want.

• Click OK to confirm your selection.

• The chosen background will now appear in the library, where you can select the three dots and set it as the background.

Option 3: Foreground

• This option is perfect for creating designs with multiple layers—ideal for trading card designers. For example, you can upload a card frame as a Foreground (preferably a PNG file) and layer other images underneath.

• Click the three dots below the image and select Foreground.

• The image will automatically fill the template.

Note: After uploading, ensure your design fits within the bleed areas to avoid cropping issues.

Adding Text

• Click the Text icon on the left-hand side.

• Enter your text in the provided box (you can modify it later if needed).

• After clicking Add, you can choose the font, size, color, and style.

• Resize and position the text as desired.

Packaging Design

• This option is available only if you select a Custom Tuck Box during product specification.

• On the screen after product specification selection, there is a 3rd step available which has the easy option and advanced option.

• Easy Option: Simply upload a PNG image, and our system will automatically fill the template for you, making the process quick and straightforward.

• Advanced Option: Ideal for graphic designers or users with prior design experience, this option allows for more creative freedom to edit and customise the design in detail.

•Additional design options will appear in the upper-right corner, including 3 Box Outside, 4 Box Inside, 6 Box Preview, and 7 Box Inside Preview.

Design Inside and Outside of Packaging

• You can switch between designing the inside and outside of the box using the 3 Box Outside and 4 Box Inside buttons.

• There are three options for adding images to the packaging template:

Option 1 – Add

• Click the three dots below the image you wish to add and select Add.

•The image will appear on the template, and you can freely resize and position it.

Optional: Add Stickers to Your Design

• Click the Sticker Library icon on the left-hand side.

• Choose a sticker, then click Add beneath it.

• Resize and position the sticker as you like.

Option 2 - Background

• Click the three dots below the image and select Background.

•The image will automatically fill the template.

• Note: Ensure your design fits within the bleed areas after uploading.

Optional: Use QPMN Background Graphics

• Click the Background Library icon on the left-hand side.

•Select Get More and browse the available background designs.

•After selecting your desired background, click OK.

• The background will now appear in the library, where you can set it by clicking the three dots and selecting Background.

Option 3 – Foreground

• Click the three dots below the image and select Foreground.

• The image will automatically fill the template.

Note: Ensure your design fits within the bleed areas after uploading.

Preview

• Click Preview in the upper-right corner to view both the front and back of the card.

• Click 6 Box Preview to see a preview of the box’s outside design.

• Click 7 Box Inside Preview to view the inside of the box.

Add to Cart

• Once you’re satisfied with your designs, check the Copyright of your images box.

• Click ADD TO CART and confirm the copyright one more time to finalise your order.
